Post Pregnancy Update: My Progress

If you have been following my blog, then you know I had a baby last year. Getting back into shape was one of the first things on my mind. I’m a fitness instructor so my business depends on it.  After I had my baby, I worked my butt off to get back into shape. 4 1/2 months later, I was in tiptop shape. I had reached my goal and I was proud of myself.


Life Happens

As we all know, life is unpredictable. My life was (and still is) extremely busy especially now that we have a baby.  We have an overly active son, so that means almost no naps during the day (and when he does it’s usually for 10minutes max), and we have to wake up 2-3x’s a night to take care of our little drama king . He rarely sleeps in so that means super early mornings for us. I have never been so sleep deprived in my life!

The lack of sleep has affected everything from my personal workouts to my eating habits. Preparing food ahead of time is a must in this house. Squeezing in a workout can be difficult. There have been times when I decided it would be better to skip my workout due to lack of energy. I didn’t want to risk injuring myself. Because of the chaos, I forgot to take care of myself.


Getting Back on Track

I seriously bow down to every single one of you who have children (and jobs and/or school) and are able to squeeze in time for yourself. IT’S HARD but no excuses, right?!! A couple of months ago, I decided I needed to start taking care of myself again. I tweaked my diet (3 good meals with 2 snacks) and started doing TRX once a week.  I also do CXWORX 3 times a week, Body Attack 1 time per week and Insanity Live 1 time per week. 

In July, came across a photo I took in May and decided to take a new one to compare. I was surprised at how much progress I made!!! Just by being consistent with my eating habits and exercise routine, I was able to go back to where I was and maintain it. Imagine what YOU can do if you tweak your diet a teeny bit, stayed consistent and challenged yourself every time you went to the gym (or worked out at home). Getting back into shape isn’t as hard as you think it is. Staying consistent is the hard part! Stick with me and I will help you reach your goals!
